Q: Do I have to pay for the extras?

Nope! A few of the things we provide to our guests, free of charge: Wi-Fi, small breakfast of toast, jam and coffee or tea. We have a kitchen that is outfitted with food storage, cooking supplies and stocked with spices and basic staples. Personal items like bed linen and towels are provided upon check-in in the cost (small fee for extra towels). We also have a limited supply of snorkels with masks, boogie boards and beach mats that are available at no cost.
A few exceptions: weekly courtyard barbeques (we provide the food and cooking) and personal laundry (which we can do for you for a small fee). It’s recommended that you bring your own lock – we occasionally will have some for sale. We provide a small complimentary breakfast of toast and coffee, but often have more food items for purchase for a small amount. Surfboard rental is $15 for the day.

Q: When are check-in and check-out times?

Check out time is 11: 00 AM, check-in from 12 PM until 12:30 AM, or on a special note available until 1 AM.

Q: What if my arrival time is after 1 AM?

We are a small hostel and you may want to consider one of the larger hostels with 24-hour desks. After waiting up until 4 AM too many times, for a guest who ultimately didn’t show up, we realized that unless the staff (including myself) have a chance to sleep we aren’t able to provide the cheerful and helpful service the other guests deserve.
If you don’t want to stay at one of the larger hostels you may want to consider booking a day later and stay awake another few hours to enjoy the beach at sunrise and perhaps have an early breakfast (we’re just 2 blocks from IHOP).

Q: What is your cancellation/refund policy?

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy; you will not have to pay if you cancel 2 days before you are set to arrive. If you give us less than 48 hours notice, you will be charged for your first night and your reservation will be cancelled. We can’t refund the service charge or any handling fees paid to online agents. No-shows forfeit their deposit, or, are automatically charged for their first night.
However, we are reasonable people. If your flight is delayed by weather or mechanical problems beyond your control we will not charge you for the nights you weren’t here if you inform us by email (resinfo@seasidehawaiianhostel.com).
Note: Hostelworld/ Hostels.com deposit is 12%.

Q: Can I telephone or email my reservation?

Only online reservations are accepted from our website, hostelworld.com, etc. Walk-ins are welcome if we have availability. We don’t put any holds in the reservation system, as we are usually fully booked.

Q: Do you have quiet times?

Yes, quiet hours are in effect each night from 11 PM to 8AM.
At 11 PM we close down our outside courtyard, and ask our remaining guests to go out and enjoy the nightlife of Waikiki.

Q: Is it true you can go around the island on the city bus for just $2?

Single, transferable bus ticket cost around $ 2.50 (price is a subject to be changed, please check with theBUS.org.) We don’t sell any BUS GUIDES.
There is a Circular bus around the Island, more info on www.thebus.org.

Q: How about bus passes?

4-day bus passes are $ 35.00; month passes cost $ 60.00 (price is a subject to be changed).

Q: What if my flight doesn't leave until late that night, can you check my bags?

Yes we can, as long as you don’t need to get your bags back before the office reopens at 4 PM. As a special service to our guests we will give you a towel and let you back into your dorm to freshen up or shower before your flight.
